Parenting Seminars
Our Approach
Alma Community Care offers parenting workshops in the spring and fall to families in the Greater Logan Heights community. Each seminar is presented by licensed marriage and family therapists and is available free of charge to seminar attendees, as well as family and friends. Explore the list of available seminars below.
Nurturing Hearts and Minds
Each child carries a story shaped by their experiences, relationships, and environment. We come alongside families to better understand children’s emotions, the challenges they face, and the ways stress and trauma can affect their well-being. Together, we focus on nurturing emotional strength, building resilience, and reminding children and parents that they are valued, capable, and never alone.
By strengthening emotional well-being and resilience, families are better equipped to navigate stressors common in under-resourced communities, leading to healthier children and more stable home environments.
Strengthening Family Bonds
Strong families are built through connection, communication, and care especially during difficult moments. Seminars in this area invites parents and caregivers to deepen relationships with their children by listening with empathy, repairing after conflict, and fostering trust at home. We believe healing and growth happen in relationships rooted in patience, grace, and mutual respect.
As a result, stronger family relationships contribute to emotional safety, reduce isolation, and promote relational healing supporting long-term stability for children and caregivers alike.
Parenting With Focus and Grace
Parenting is a journey filled with both joy and challenge. Alma supports parents as they lead their families with intention, consistency, and compassion. We offer practical tools and encouragement to help caregivers set healthy boundaries, work together in unity, and respond to their children with calm and confidence knowing that growth happens one step at a time.
When parents are supported as capable leaders, families experience greater stability, reduced stress, and more nurturing home environments that foster healthy child development.
