Fall 2026
Adolescence is the transitional period between childhood and adulthood, bringing significant changes to both the body and the way young people relate to the world. This parenting workshop led by Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Zulma DiGaudio will help parents and caregivers understand what is happening and determine the best way to fulfill their role during this stage of life.
When does this period start for your child? Although some refer to the teen years 13 to 18 or 19, while others propose a longer period extending from 11 to 24. It can also be divided into stages. However, parents and caregivers see physiological changes that are triggered by puberty beginning at different ages based on culture and lifestyle influences.
Zulma identifies specific physiological changes for both boys and girls, providing basic scientific facts to help us understand what's going on and how we can best help our teens keep their body and mind healthy, and help them develop their identity which is developed of the course of each developmental stage; a cumulative rather than a discrete process.
She concludes this seminar by sharing what your role is during this period of development.
