Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

With the help of Hope for San Diego's "Day of Service" we had a wonderful “Mother’s Morning” on July 19 serving 24 mothers and 13 children! Our mother’s and their children started lining up 20 minutes before we opened the doors which was so encouraging to see.

The morning was full of conversation, great food, relationship building, rest, and pampering for our mothers. They loved getting their nails painted, make-up done, painting and planting succulent pots, receiving free chiropractic adjustments and mini massages, while their children were having so much fun in our kid’s zone.

For the last 3 years I've helped the ladies with making themselves floral bouquets. It's been wonderful to see them get creative with a variety of flowers and greens, something they can enjoy at home, just for them or to give as a gift. I love seeing how a small bouquet of nature's beauty can be so uplifting!

This year some of the women were curious about the different greens and how they might be grown in their own gardens or pots! It was fun to encourage the gardener in them!

It’s GOD’S GRACE!!!! Brokenness is real. We are all flawed. These families matter and their relationships with one another matter!  It has been a privilege to volunteer at these parenting seminars that Alma Care has been providing for the Logan Heights community. As an introvert, the Lord is refining me as we greet the participants who come. These seminars have been a blessing – help, hope, and healing!!!

The therapists have provided knowledge, activities, and handouts for each of the seminars that are engaging and rich with knowledge for both the caregiver and their children.  I come out with a collection of handouts with new insights for loving and caring for our own family members. The Gospel changes everything!
